NEA is the national fuel poverty charity, working across England, Wales and Northern Ireland to ensure that everyone is able to live in a warm and safe home.
The Connecting Homes for Health project was run by NEA in partnership with Northern Gas Networks and YES Energy Solutions. It installed first time central heating systems and gas connections in 100 homes of people in the North East of England who were on low incomes and at risk of cold-related ill health.
From script to storyboard, and then the finished product, we created an engaging animation to demonstrate the lifechanging impact that these improvements had on health and wellbeing. We showed the progression from cold to warmth, emphasising the positive benefits of action – like families having somewhere warm to eat together, having a hot bath whenever it’s needed and having the space and enthusiasm to take up hobbies again.
The animation is being used for a variety of purposes, including to make the case to Government for action and to engage potential supporters in this work.
