Well, that’s that then, eh? We’re officially at Christmas crunch time.
This is the bookend to the year for many, and those of us who are still in the office are preparing for the most wonderful time of the year. Lists are getting ticked off (and checked twice). For those of us still hunting for the perfect prezzies, we’re preparing ourselves for the queues in the shopping centre car parks.
It’s not long until you’ll be dusting off those napkins and paper plates from the back of the cupboard, filling the fridge with canapés and, if you’ve got children, preparing for a severely poor night’s sleep on the 24th.
It can be easy to forget this is a prime period for rest and relaxation, especially when it all feels a bit stressful. We’re here to remind you to slow it down if you can.
Turn down the intensity, and turn up the music.
Can work wait?
Keeping your laptop closed for the whole Christmas period might not be possible. And we know, the temptation to take a quick peek at the inbox can put you on the naughty list.
But no, don’t do it! It can bloomin’ well wait. If you are able to spend the season resting, chilling with friends or family, or catching up on chores you’ve been putting off, that’s something to cherish.
It’s the best time of year to do it if you can – and many businesses across the country will be doing exactly the same. Most emails are going to be waiting until January and that’s just how it is.
So, don’t go feeling bad. Embrace the stint of freedom and binge a boxset, delve into Duolingo or get your craft on.
A love letter to our clients
Before we do say cheerio for the year, we wanted to say a big thank you to the coolest of clients, those who trust us to think up creative concepts, super strategies, wonderful workshops and bring them to life.
We love what we do, and we (literally) couldn’t do it without you trusting us. Over the year, we’ve played our part in some comms and campaigns that we’re super proud of. And we can’t wait to work on more big and bold briefs next year with you, and welcome brand-new clients too.
Following our own advice, we’ll be sticking our feet up for a few days. Fret not – when we come back in the new year, we’ll have recharged our creative superpowers and be fuelled by (too many) mince pies.
P.S…
We know not everyone is able to have a Christmas break – but it’s still a wonderful time of the year.
Whether you’re celebrating Christmas, working through the season with others, or just chilling out there’s joy to be found.
Remember to look up at the lights on the streets. Enjoy the atmosphere. Sip on some hot chocolate and have a well-earned break!
